The Most Romantic Season
Ever asked yourself which season is the most romantic? Romance writers think about stuff like that.
Spring brings blooming flowers, mild weather, and a sense of renewal. After all, as Tennyson said, “In the Spring a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love.”
Summer is about long, warm days, beach dates, and stargazing. The beach, with sun, sand, and swimsuits, scream physicality and playfulness. Pool parties and  tropical vacations are freeing and fun, full of  flirtation and sensual energy.
But I’ve always thought fall and winter are the most romantic seasons. Sure The season is filled with holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving, which often bring a sense of togetherness. That’s great for family bonding, but pretty low on the romance scale.
If you live someplace where leaves change color (not Florida), the hues of red, orange, and gold provide a beautiful, scenic backdrop. Slightly higher on the romance scale since taking a walk holding hands through a beautiful landscape is at least touching. But the romantic thing about cold weather is it encourages people to snuggle up with warm drinks, blankets, and fires.
This past week Fernandina Beach had it’s first cool night of the season. To us in Florida, that means a temperature less than 70°. When the outside temperature is 68°, it’s possible to sleep closer than three feet. Like I said, we romance writers think about stuff like this.
