Vegas Surprise

I awoke to knocking. Room service, I thought. Hung over, eyes still closed, I heard footsteps. Ah, Cheryl was getting the door. I wondered why she was even up this morning after celebrating her divorce Vegas style.

I smelled coffee, opened my eyes, and bolted upright! A man stood beside the bed holding two cups. I realized I was naked and yanked the sheet up.

“Who the hell are you?” And where’s Cheryl?/

His hand jerked slopping coffee.”You really don’t recognize me?”

“No! Get Out!”

“OK, You were pretty wasted.”

He sat beside me, handed me a cup. “Last night. What do you remember?

“It’s fuzzy…I had a drink… ” I finally focused on his very nice face. “You…I had a drink with you.”

“Jesus!” he ran his fingers through his hair, grabbed a picture from the coffee table. In it we were smiling, holding hands.

“So? We had a good time.”

“Look again.”

I saw a wedding chapel and a flashy ring… like the one I realized was on my finger! I waved my hand. “Ha, like this is real.”

Silence.

“That’s ridiculous!”

“Mason’s Jewelry, on the first floor, would disagree.”

Panicked, I raced to the bathroom, heaved, then splashed my face.

I walked back wrapped in a towel and carrying an unfamiliar zipper pouch.I pulled out a condom. “We didn’t…”

He smiled, “No, no wedding night yet.”

Hmmm, really good looking, thoughtful, and he brought me coffee. I smiled back. “So what was your name?”
